Kiku Melon Sorbet

Updated: Sep 14, 2022

Kiku Melon Sorbet is most likely gonna be something I make every year as a summer treat. It's smooth, sweet and refreshing. Kiku is a chrysanthemum melon variety. It's a Prolific plant with vines that grow between 6-7 feet long, the perfect size for small space gardeners, and it grows well on trellises. Kiku has a creamy white skin and white flesh that is mildly sweet and tastes similar to a pear, which is one of the ingredients in my sorbet recipe.

Servings: 6-8

What you'll need

  • one kiku Melon, cubed and frozen

  • two limes

  • one pear, cubed and frozen

  • one green apple, cubed and frozen

  • 6oz water

  • 1tbsp sugar (more or less depending on your taste)

Directions:

Juice the limes, then mix the lime juice with the water to dissolve the sugar. Blend the frozen fruit and slowly add the lime mix as your fruit is blending. I like mine to be JUST SLIGHTLY soupy because it makes a smoother sorbet. Blend until smooth, then pour into a container and freeze until it's barely frozen.

Enjoy!
